Meet the Rep – Ashley KingFebruary 18, 2019
Ashley King is the Isaac Lord Rep for the Home Counties area. Get to know him a bit better below!
What was your background before joining Isaac Lord?
I was bench joiner for 10 years, and Makita sales rep for 2 years.
How long have you been with the company?
I joined Isaac Lord in January.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing some of the amazing products that our customers can create, personal favourite so far was a 8 meter skeleton of the bowl of a boat to be hung from a ceiling for a customer’s house in London.
Just imagine how big the room must have been!
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Finding some of my customers workshops. They can range from being on a farm that is set back a mile from the road with no signage, behind a costa coffee, and the strangest so far was on the 6th floor of a tower block with no lift and when you get up there and they have a table saw bigger then a mini in there. I have no idea how that got up there! LOL
If your colleagues could describe you in 3 words, what would they be?
The king of using ten words when I could have just used one!
What was your first job?
Pot wash in a French restaurant. I got paid £12 a night and would always have an amazing dinner from the kitchen at the end of the night.
One thing you couldn’t live without?
I should say my partner (Abbie) and my family, but if I’m honest with myself It would be TalkSport ;)
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Chelsea not sticking with a manager for longer than a month.
If you could swap places with anyone for a day, who would it be?
Tell us about something you get up to in your spare time.
I’m currently renovating my house so most of my weekends are spent doing this. If I could give advice regarding a house renovation... if you enjoy your weekends relaxing, seeing friends or trying to get your golf handicap down then DON’T renovate a house!
