The special drive – T-STAR plus – is a so-called hexalobular internal. Compared to less precise-fitting drive types like Phillips or cross recess, the contact surface is many times larger with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits are always positioned optimally in the screw head. The maximum, precise force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw that results from the use of T-STAR plus thus enables simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives. What this means for you: No more annoying bit slips from the screw head – you can take care of serial fastening in no time at all!
In furniture assembly, standard nails offer little resistance to pull-out for the back wall in body edges. Our flat flange head screw for back-wall fastening offers a durable alternative. The large flat head has no dome, thus protecting the material by distributing the pressure over a larger area. The flat flange head screws for cabinet connections replace the frequently used combination of screws and threaded sleeves. They are simply screwed into the 5 mm Euro-standard hole – they centre themselves and pull the two bodies together with great force. With a thickness of just a few millimetres, the head of the cabinet connector screws doesn’t get in the way of additional cabinet installations, such as drawer runners. What this means for you: Sturdy cabinet bodies thanks to perfectly installed back walls, connections that can be loosened at any time.
In principle, all of our screws can be organised into two groups: screws with partial thread and screws with full thread. Screws with partial thread are ideal for fastening components like engineered wood boards, panels, floorboards and even squared timbers on load-bearing components like stud framing or posts (in this case, with our HI.FORCE). While the thread makes its way through the load-bearing component, the thread-free shank of the partial thread screw should pull all the way through the top attachment. When the screw is inserted further, the screw head pulls the upper component onto the lower one. By inserting the screw, maximum contact pressure is therefore created between the two components. Of course, this effect is ideal when the thread-free shank has at least the same thickness as the attachment. What this means for you: Partial thread screws offer the ultimate clamping force in wood construction.
The term 4CUT is used to describe the fact that the point of our screws is not rounded, but rather shaped like an arrow. These four edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and thus create space for the core diameter of the screw. The otherwise inevitable expansion at the core of the wood is effectively reduced, minimising wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to “squeeze” into the wood. What this means for you: Practically no pre-drilling required any longer – even in the edge areas of your workpiece that are normally prone to splitting! The 4CUT means you can skip an entire work step.
Nickel plating is a screw refining process. This protects the steel screw against corrosion and gives it a chrome-coloured, slightly yellowish finish. Nickel-plated screws are perfect for use in indoor areas with no direct exposure to the elements. For outdoor areas exposed to the elements, we recommend our WIROX-coated screws in stainless steel A2 or A4.What this means for you: High level of corrosion protection indoors at an optimal price.
The typical SPAX T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and ensures optimal positioning for the T-STAR plus bits in the screw head. By enabling maximum force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw, T-STAR plus guarantees simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives.

The screws with partial thread are ideal for fastening thin components like engineered wood boards, panels and floorboards to thicker components like squared timbers or beams. The short thread penetrates the thick component, whilst the thread-free shank remains in the attachment. This creates maximum contact pressure between the two. The thread-free part should be at least the same thickness as the attachment.
The term 4CUT stands for the arrow-shaped design of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The expansion at the core of the wood is reduced, preventing wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to “squeeze” into the wood.
Nickel plating is a refining process in which screws are given a chrome-coloured, slightly yellowish finish. Nickel-plated screws are perfect for use in indoor areas. For outdoor areas without direct weather exposure, we recommend our screws with WIROX coating. However, only our stainless steel A2 or A4 screws are suitable for areas directly exposed to the elements.
